Rest in natural Great peace
this exhausted mind
beaten helpless by karma and neurotic thought,
like the relentless fury of the pounding waves
in the infinite ocean of samsara.
The practice of meditation allows all our
turbulent thoughts and emotions to settle
quietly in a state of natural peace.
Our real problem is manipulation and fabrication
and too much thinking. Buddha said, "with
our thoughts we make the world." A distracted
mind creates endless thoughts, and most people's
minds are distracted. As one practices keeping
the mind pure, in a natural state, stillness,
clarity, peace and connection with the Infinite
are experienced. Meditation has to do
with opening what is closed in us, balancing
what is reactive in us, exploring and investigating
what is hidden.
